Tourette's Syndrome is define as a nervous system disorder involving repetitive movements or unwanted sounds. It is typically boiled down to tics (motor and vocal), but that is only the tip of the iceberg. Tourette's can include rage, behavioral issues, learning disabilities, ADHD, depression, handwriting difficulties, dysinhibition, sleep issues, OCD, anxiety, social communication deficits, impulsivity, sensory processing issues, transition issues, and executive functioning deficits. Statistically, boys are 3-5x more likely to have TS than girls. It is estimated that 1 in162 children has TS.
A portion of proceeds from the sale of our Tourette's Syndrome bracelets is donated to the Tourette Association of America, which is leading research efforts into finding causes and treatments for Tourette's. For more information, please visit tourette.org.
