Our dear friend Matthew Gillette passed recently from Lissencephaly, so we decided to design a bracelet to honor him and raise money for research.
According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders, Lissencephaly is a rare, gene-linked brain malformation characterized by the absence of convolutions (folds) in the cerebral cortex and an extremely small head (microcephaly). It is considered a rare disease, affecting 1 in every 100,000 babies.
20% of proceeds from the sale of our bracelet is donated to the Child Neurology Foundation, who is "committed to helping children and their families living with a neurologic condition receive the best quality of care — and achieve their highest quality of life — by providing information, education, and one-on-one support when it’s needed most."
