Ruth Bader Ginsburg was the first Jewish female to serve as a Supreme Court Justice. She fought hard for gender equality since the beginning. At Harvard, she faced discrimination for "taking a man's spot" at the University, but refused to let it prevent her from serving as the first female member of the Harvard Law Review.

As a Supreme Court Justice, she was known for her powerful dissents of key cases. Her main fight was against gender discrimination, writing the majority opinion in United States v. Virginia that a qualified woman couldn't be denied admission from the Virginia Military Institute and dissented against the results of Ledbetter v. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. While she knew the SCOTUS played an important role, she believed social change could only come from the legislative branch. She worked with President Obama to write the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009.

Justice Ginsburg passed from pancreatic cancer on September 18, 2020. Until her passing, she continued to work hard for the people and what she believed in. In her honor, we are proud to be donating a portion of proceeds from our Notorious RBG bracelets to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. For more information on PanCan, visit pancan.org.

May she rest in power.
