Guillain-Barré Syndrome is a condition in which the immune system attacks the nerves. Symptoms include a numbness in the hands and feet that spread through the body, possibly leading to paralysis. Treatments include blood and plasma transfusions and physical therapy. The syndrome is represented by a turtle for the mantra "getting better slowly."
