HIV, also known as human immunodeficiency virus, is a virus that attacks the body's immune system. If left untreated, it can develop into AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency virus syndrome), a disease in which there is a severe loss of the body's cellular immunity, leaving it susceptible to infection and other illnesses. Symptoms include abdominal pain, fatigue, fever, nausea, oral ulcers, and sores or swelling in the groin area. However, there is a lot of stigma surrounding the disease.
