February 1-March 1 is Black History Month. This month's theme is "Black Health & Wellness."

Here are some facts about Black Health:

  • Black Americans are more likely to experience anxiety, depression, and other symptoms of emotional distress than white Americans, yet they're also less likely to receive treatment.

  • The risk of pregnancy related deaths for Black women is 3-4x higher than white women.

  • Relative to white patients, Black patients were less likely to receive pain medication for moderate pain.
