Childhood cancer is treatable with chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, and transplantation; 85% of children with cancer now survive 5 years or more (cancer.org) However, treatments aren't easily accessible and are expensive. According to Forbes, the average cost of stay in a hospital for a child with cancer is $40,000. By donating money to research more reliable and accessible options, advocating for universal healthcare, and donating to families with medical bills, we can help alleviate some of this burden.
